Elin is a 1st year Master of Science student in the Industrial Hygiene Program at UCLA.

What are your OSH interests/research focus? 

Nanoparticles and their potential effects on occupational and environmental health.

What is your motivation for being in the field of Public Health/Occupational Health?

My interest in public and occupational health was influenced by my dad’s work experiences, first in an auto body shop and now at the Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant. Through his work, I became more aware of how employees can be routinely exposed to occupational hazards without always recognizing their potential long-term health effects. This motivated me to gain a better understanding of workplace exposures and how occupational health practices can help identify and prevent these risks.
